Project Life Tuesday!

Tuesday, March 23, 2010

This week Caty and I started ready the first Harry Potter book. I’m not sure how into it she is. She doesn’t really like books without pictures, but we will get through it slow and steady. On a positive note, I have read the book before so I probably won’t be as anxious to get through the book like I was with Holes.

Went to see “Diary of a Wimpy Kid” with a friend. Kind of a funny movie, we were the only ones in the theater so we were able to talk and watch the movie at the same time. We had a really good time.

Picture is kind of blurry but it was a beautiful sunset. Don’t let that sun fool you it was FREEZING. I think it was 22 degrees. Welcome to Michigan!

Friday, March 26, 2010

I’m normally a MaryKay girl. As a matter of fact I’m the “World’s Worst MaryKay Lady.” The reason I’m the worst, I’m not going to sell you crap you don’t need. If you want something because you want it then I will sell it to you at my cost once, maybe twice a year. That’s how many orders I put in a year. So why the picture of Maybelline? It is sparkly mascara!!! You can totally tell that it is on too, right? It could be the rest of the sparkles that I wear. Either way I’m going to try.

I had class this weekend and instead of a picture I thought this fun video would do. This was one of things we talked about. Enjoy!

Sunday, March 28, 2010

My mom surprised me today by making a fresh pot of coffee. You see she got up to let the dog out and made a fresh pot because she thought I would like that. Of course I loved it since coffee became more of a need then a want this morning. It was totally unexpected and I was defiantly in a better mood knowing that I had an hour drive and then had to sit through a lousy class all day long But I sucked it up and had a great attitude and made it through the weekend.

I got to hang out with Caty most of the day. I took her out to lunch and got her Easter present early. 3D sidewalk chalk. She told me that the closer to the color she got the more 3D it became. Hence the blue on her nose. Her mom got her a kitty for Easter, his name is Shadow. Caty just loves him. Caty is more of a cat person then a dog person. I bet Shadow get a better place to sleep then Dobby. Oh well. One of the other thing I did with Caty is I went to visit a long time friend that just loves on Caty and my family. Linda is one of the first people at my church that took an interest in my family. Now she brings Caty over to her house for Tea Parties and dress up and does fun girl stuff. There have been some women’s events at my church that Linda offered to watch Caty so we (my mom, my sister and myself) could go to. Papa was really busy those nights. We love Linda and you can tell that Linda loves us too.

Project Life Tuesday!

Question before we start: Is anyone else finding that some of the slots for journaling card have not been cut? I mean there is a space for them there just isn't a slit to slide them in.

Monday, March 15, 2010

My Brother and his new shoes. His girlfriend hates them but he likes them.

Tuesday, March 16, 2010

A friend of mine is an elementary teacher and once a year she will have a student that needs someone to do something because the parents won’t get involved or they can’t or the variety of other reasons. This is the second year I have taken a Flat Stanley. It wasn’t a cool as last year but this year I took part in reading month and got a book for the classroom and a book for the student. Red was also the student’s favorite color is red.

Wednesday, March 17, 2010

Just a reminder of how adorable Dobby looks in Caty’s bed. She doesn’t like the dog sleeping in her bed. I posed the picture just to drive Caty nuts!

Thursday, March 18, 2010

So I thought I would be really nice and print off all of the pictures that I took with the kids and even the shot of the boys standing on the line. Several of my pictures had the wrong date on them. I noticed after I printed them. So I suck it up and get another set printed and the woman at the Walgreens counter made a comment about just seeing me the night before, so I tell her the story about the wrong date and she tell me that I can return them. I say “I can’t punish you for my mistake.” She tell me that she has had people ask her how to do stuff, tell her she is wrong, do it their own way and return the pictures because they weren’t right, so I’m ok. So I return 16 pictures but I’m sure to keep one just for the sake of a reminder.

Caty had dress like the eighty’s day at her school. So mom and I went to the Goodwill and found her a cute little outfit. The other picture is one of my student’s due to a careless driver she was in a school bus accident that hopefully saved her life. After an MRI the doctors found a 5 cm tumor in her brain. Today was the day that she had surgery to remove it. At press time no word on whether it was cancerours or not.

Saturday, March 20, 2010

New Moon. My Favorite coffee for $1.95 per bag, normally $8. Carmel coffee flavor for $0.85. There is a little store in one of the surrounding towns that sells outdated/dented/not selling in the regular store at a discount price. I bought 16 bags of that coffee.

Sunday, March 21, 2010

Yes, I made a goofy face but I got a new hair style. The stylist took off 2.5 inches. I think it looks cute.

Monday, March 22, 2010

My mom was teaching Caty how to do the dishes. Caty told my mom that she was the best grandma in the entire world. Who knew that is all it took to be the greatest.

Project Life Tuesday!

Tuesday, March 9, 2010
Welcome to the “Man Cave.” My uncle got this bearskin rug and redecorated the “Black hole” into the Man Cave. When my Grandma and Grandpa Warnock were alive they called the basement of their home the Black hole, that is where my Grandpa would disappear to when he was hiding from my Grandma, But he would really go and take a nap and watch two ballgames on two different TVs. Now the Man Cave has a lot of dead animals in it, including a stuffed squirrel. Kind of strange for a family that doesn’t hunt.

Wednesday, March 10, 2010

In order to see the Man Cave, I had to take a trip to my Uncle Tim’s house. I had a job interview and because of the distance I decided to leave early and get there Tuesday night, for the interview that was early in the morning Wednesday. My uncle took me out for Breakfast and I snapped this picture of him and I. It really is a great picture of the two us together. I think I will make him a 5 by 7 and send him a copy in a frame. I didn’t get the job, apparently they did not read my cover letter. I’m not certified yet to teach special education, but due to the great need I can become “emergency certified” so I can get a job in special education, but that isn’t good enough for this job and it did say that on my cover letter. Oh Well, Jesus has something bigger for me someplace else.

Thursday, March 11, 2010

Caty said the sweetest pray I have ever heard from anyone. I know that I have said in the past that the way she prays puts me to shame. We were having meatloaf. Not her favorite, but if we ate her favorite all of the time we would survive on McDonald's and Pizza. My mom and I told her she had to eat 5 bites, so she put a piece of meat on her fork and said “Dear Jesus, help me eat this meat because I don’t want too.” My mom and I look at each other and she didn’t have to eat the meat after that.

Friday, March 11, 2010

The Boy’s went to district finals. These boys beat a team that has gone to district finals 11 out of the last 13 years and has won district finals 9 of the 11 years. We were pretty proud.  This was the line up during the National Anthem. Yes, I took the picture during the National Anthem. They didn’t win but they played well. Maybe next year.

Saturday, March 12, 2010

The High School Drama Club put on Snow White: A twisted tale. It was really good. Funny and written by one of the eighth graders, she has a very promising career. Caty sat through the entire play. Instead of getting autographs I took pictures with the cast members. I had a lot of fun.

Sunday, March 13, 2010

Here is my cardboard testimony. I’m not sure how much more I have to say. Before Jesus I was Lukewarm, selfish and a chair warmer. I can remember showing up for church thinking, Ok I’m here. This better be good. And now I look for areas to serve. I mean I already talking about Bridget and how she took a chance on me, but I get to lead a trip to Flint. In case you are wondering what "Cardboard Testimonies" look like. This one wasn't from our Church but it is an example.

Project Life Tuesday!

I missed last week so I will post the pictures from the last two weeks.
Monday, February 22, 2010

I’m reading Holes to Caty before she goes to bed. This is kind of going to be a slow and steady wins the race to get through the book.

Tuesday, February 23, 2010

This is Bridget. I just love her and she will always hold a very special place in my heart. You see she was one of the first people that took a chance on me and allowed me to lead a project under our women’s ministry. She had no prior knowledge of my work ethic all she and I knew was that I wanted to be a part of something at my church and she is the first person that plugged me in. Since then I have taken on more and different opportunities around the church including leading a mission trip. But she took that chance and for that I will thank her FOREVER!

Janet’s Fundraiser at Bob Evan’s- A local restaurant read Janet’s article in the paper and offered to have a fundraiser for her. I’m not sure how much was made but the manager said they were busy.

Tuesday, March 1, 2010

This is a picture from last summer’s mission trip, but I thought it was so appropriate for today’s picture. You see, this is one of the faces that I was thinking about when I set the dates for the mission trip for the summer. I also booked the hotel rooms. So it is becoming very official. July 18th through July 23rd. I don’t remember her name but I will never forget her face. She was so cute in real life too.

According to the thermometer it is 85 degrees Fahrenheit. So if the thermometer says it’s so hot why is there still snow on the ground?

Thursday, March 4, 2010

This is Tyler. He is a senior at the school I sub at and I’m often blown away by his leadership skills. I can totally tell why he was one of the Captains of his basketball team. Despite the fact that he took a technical foul for “unsportman like conduct” during this game, he still has one of the greatest leaders I have ever seen. Whether he is opening doors for ANYONE who has full hands or in this picture he had just come off the court moments before and was making sure that his teammates had water during a timeout. I did tell him this Friday morning and that he should keep up the good work.

Friday March 5, 2010

Some of you might have seen the Cardboard Testimonies on youtube. There is a group of us going to do that at church. I will share what mine says on the 14th when we present it to the church. It was snowing when I left the church after practice I decided to get that picture

Saturday, March 6, 2010

My dad finally gave in and slept with Dobby.

Monday, March 8, 2010

Notice the beautiful sunshine, and the problem with the snow melting we see how much food is out for the squirrels and birds.

Project Life Tuesday!

Papa got Caty this singing bee, it sings "Bee My Baby!" and she put it by her bed
My Tuesday Women of Worth Ladies. Love Ya!
No matter what we tried Dobby wouldn't move from this spot until my dad got home from work. He was there for about 2 hours.
Me giving Janet her prayer shawl-see previous post

Oh the irony, This Caty with the doctor. She looks fine right, fast foward an hour and she puked in my car. She had food poisening.

Please Help

Janet is a girl that I met at my church about 5 years ago Janet’s project life is to try and save her life. This is what she looked when I first met her.

And this is what she looks like today, well Friday when my mom and I gave her the pray shawl. No there is nothing wrong with the picture she is really that yellow.

Janet has been battling Crohn’s disease since she was in high school. Due to some complications from a 2007 surgery, she has been in and out of the hospital. During that time she was placed on a ventilator four times and has only two feet of intestines left. Because her stomach can’t absorb nutrition, she is now on a 24-hour feeding tube.

Last summer she made a decision to call hospice. At 32 years old she had finally made peace with the fact that she was dying. After a lot of pray and before giving up completely, Janet tried one last option, which would be a small intestine transplant. It was defiantly a long shot, but after lengthy research she found a hospital that would give her an evaluation. That hospital is Clarion Hospital in Indianapolis, IN.

She arrived in Indianapolis on Jan. 27. The next day, Dr. Rodrigo Vianna, a transplant surgeon, gave her startling news. He could possibly cure her Crohn’s disease by doing a rare transplant surgery where she would receive five new organs: a new liver, stomach, pancreas and large and small intestine. That news left Janet speechless.

She officially will be placed on the transplant waiting list March 1.

That means she must live within four hours of the hospital so she is close by when her organs become available.

But there’s just one hitch, she needs a place to stay. She doesn’t have much money and her husband has had to take a lot of time off work so to say that they are struggling is an understatement. Her medical insurance will covers her medical expenses.

Now Janet is doing something she hasn’t done for years. She’s starting to daydream about her future - about what it would be like to take a walk, about living again, about getting to know her husband.

Oh I forgot to mention her husband. They were married in July of 2007 and she started have all of this medical drama in September of 2007. I was at their wedding and when they said their vows I never thought “for better or worse, in sickness and in health” was going to going to be their entire marriage.

Janet needs to move, without her husband, to the Indianapolis area by March 1 to wait for the call that they have her new organs. She needs a place to stay before her transplant and for almost a year afterwards.

I’m asking you to pray for how God can use you bring about a miracle. Janet is already beat the odds, numerous times.

If you want to send prayers I will get them to her.

Caty working on Valentines for her class. She found a Jonas Brother poster and made sure to say that they were the real thing and a poster. So here is Caty standing next to the “real” Jonas Brothers.

Tuesday, February 9, 2010

Today was a very busy day. So I have to post a couple of pictures. For starters… when my mom watches Caty on the night my sister has works, she has to get Caty up for school the next day. Well Caty is not easy to get moving in the morning. So my mom tricks her, at quarter to seven she wakes Caty up and tells her it’s time to get up, While Caty is moaning and groaning about how tired she is my mom will nicely sugest that if she is really tired she can sleep 5 more minutes. Caty comes out of bed at 7:00 am thinking that she is “sleeping in.” I donated blood, I’m O- so they really want my blood. And my dad dressed up all in pink to support the Lady Bulldogs in their fight for Breast Cancer. That’s right Real Men Wear Pink!

Wednesday, February 10, 2010

Next week is Snowcomming and the theme is “Reality TV” Even though I’m a sub I decided to participate in the staff section. The staff’s choice was Jersey Shores. So here is my Jersey Shore picture. My nickname is “Snickers.”It is so funny.

Thursday, February 11, 2010

Lately my mom has missed her cat, the cat that would come and get her when it was time for bed. So she has been pulling Dobby in bed with her when she takes a nap. Here is Dobby perched on my dad’s pillow. And I finally broke down and got the Project Life kit. It came today.

Friday, February 12, 2010

Caty got a haircut. I think she is so adorable. I thought she was cute before. But this is so cute.

Saturday, February 13, 2010

Dirty Dobby went to the groomers today. He needed it, he was a matted little mess.

Sunday, February 14, 2010

My brother brought me a Valentine, it was a flower. I love it. I brought one for my mom, Caty, my sister and myself. What a sweetie!

Project Life Tuesday!

I have been so busy working and going to school that I have been unable to post every day. I will try and do better since it will be 7 weeks until my next class. I have been able to keep up with the one picture per day. I am supper glad that I have had this accountability group so that I can stay up-to-date.

Tuesday, February 2, 2010

During this session of wow we are working through the Psalms of Assent. Beth Moore said something really funny in the video. So I took her picture.

Wednesday, February 3, 2010

While I was cleaning off my desk I found a bag of my favorite coffee, Jamacia Me Crazy. (Yes, that is it's name) And I thought I would show everyone that my cup was doing great.

Thursday, February 4, 2010

I am an avid second hand shopper. Today I went to the Goodwill and found my dad a brand new Land’s end Coat for $14. I couldn’t pass it up. I took his picture because he wore it the same night I bought it for him. That is not something that he usually does. I also went to the BookNook a used book store in Cadillac. I love going there. I only spent $.97. That is correct I spent less than $1 how

Friday, February 5, 2010

In the winter I love the clear sunny days, the only thing I don’t like is how cold it gets. So even when it is gray outside, that is just God’s way of hugging the earth.

Saturday, February 6, 2010

Saturday morning I’m going to Traverse City for class. This is would mark the 3 weekend in a row, so I had to stop for the essentials. McDonalds coffee and a Sausage McGriddle. Life really doesn’t get much better than that.

Sunday, February 7, 2010

This is a picture of me pumping gas so I can go to Traverse City for the last day of class, for the weekend. I have two more weekends of classes then I will be done for the semester. I know that two weeks ago I prayed for endurance and I have made it through alive and ready to go.
