Project Life Tuesday!

Papa got Caty this singing bee, it sings "Bee My Baby!" and she put it by her bed
My Tuesday Women of Worth Ladies. Love Ya!
No matter what we tried Dobby wouldn't move from this spot until my dad got home from work. He was there for about 2 hours.
Me giving Janet her prayer shawl-see previous post

Oh the irony, This Caty with the doctor. She looks fine right, fast foward an hour and she puked in my car. She had food poisening.

Please Help

Janet is a girl that I met at my church about 5 years ago Janet’s project life is to try and save her life. This is what she looked when I first met her.

And this is what she looks like today, well Friday when my mom and I gave her the pray shawl. No there is nothing wrong with the picture she is really that yellow.

Janet has been battling Crohn’s disease since she was in high school. Due to some complications from a 2007 surgery, she has been in and out of the hospital. During that time she was placed on a ventilator four times and has only two feet of intestines left. Because her stomach can’t absorb nutrition, she is now on a 24-hour feeding tube.

Last summer she made a decision to call hospice. At 32 years old she had finally made peace with the fact that she was dying. After a lot of pray and before giving up completely, Janet tried one last option, which would be a small intestine transplant. It was defiantly a long shot, but after lengthy research she found a hospital that would give her an evaluation. That hospital is Clarion Hospital in Indianapolis, IN.

She arrived in Indianapolis on Jan. 27. The next day, Dr. Rodrigo Vianna, a transplant surgeon, gave her startling news. He could possibly cure her Crohn’s disease by doing a rare transplant surgery where she would receive five new organs: a new liver, stomach, pancreas and large and small intestine. That news left Janet speechless.

She officially will be placed on the transplant waiting list March 1.

That means she must live within four hours of the hospital so she is close by when her organs become available.

But there’s just one hitch, she needs a place to stay. She doesn’t have much money and her husband has had to take a lot of time off work so to say that they are struggling is an understatement. Her medical insurance will covers her medical expenses.

Now Janet is doing something she hasn’t done for years. She’s starting to daydream about her future - about what it would be like to take a walk, about living again, about getting to know her husband.

Oh I forgot to mention her husband. They were married in July of 2007 and she started have all of this medical drama in September of 2007. I was at their wedding and when they said their vows I never thought “for better or worse, in sickness and in health” was going to going to be their entire marriage.

Janet needs to move, without her husband, to the Indianapolis area by March 1 to wait for the call that they have her new organs. She needs a place to stay before her transplant and for almost a year afterwards.

I’m asking you to pray for how God can use you bring about a miracle. Janet is already beat the odds, numerous times.

If you want to send prayers I will get them to her.

Today was a very busy day. So I have to post a couple of pictures. For starters… when my mom watches Caty on the night my sister has works, she has to get Caty up for school the next day. Well Caty is not easy to get moving in the morning. So my mom tricks her, at quarter to seven she wakes Caty up and tells her it’s time to get up, While Caty is moaning and groaning about how tired she is my mom will nicely sugest that if she is really tired she can sleep 5 more minutes. Caty comes out of bed at 7:00 am thinking that she is “sleeping in.” I donated blood, I’m O- so they really want my blood. And my dad dressed up all in pink to support the Lady Bulldogs in their fight for Breast Cancer. That’s right Real Men Wear Pink!

Lately my mom has missed her cat, the cat that would come and get her when it was time for bed. So she has been pulling Dobby in bed with her when she takes a nap. Here is Dobby perched on my dad’s pillow. And I finally broke down and got the Project Life kit. It came today.

While I was cleaning off my desk I found a bag of my favorite coffee, Jamacia Me Crazy. (Yes, that is it's name) And I thought I would show everyone that my cup was doing great.

I am an avid second hand shopper. Today I went to the Goodwill and found my dad a brand new Land’s end Coat for $14. I couldn’t pass it up. I took his picture because he wore it the same night I bought it for him. That is not something that he usually does. I also went to the BookNook a used book store in Cadillac. I love going there. I only spent $.97. That is correct I spent less than $1 how

In the winter I love the clear sunny days, the only thing I don’t like is how cold it gets. So even when it is gray outside, that is just God’s way of hugging the earth.

Saturday morning I’m going to Traverse City for class. This is would mark the 3 weekend in a row, so I had to stop for the essentials. McDonalds coffee and a Sausage McGriddle. Life really doesn’t get much better than that.

Sunday, February 7, 2010

This is a picture of me pumping gas so I can go to Traverse City for the last day of class, for the weekend. I have two more weekends of classes then I will be done for the semester. I know that two weeks ago I prayed for endurance and I have made it through alive and ready to go.

It was one of those days!

I had one of the most random thoughts of my life this morning. Something told me to pack another pair of pants. So I got another pair of pants and took them and put them by my backpack so that I could take them with me to work. Well it happened, I split my pants at work today, but I didn’t have the extra pair that I thought I had packed. They were still at home on my chair. So here they are.
